Shuttle Project Given Green Light

In 2014 the Rush Memorial Hospital Foundation was given a wish from Rush Memorial Hospital. That wish was to raise funds for a shuttle service to assist patients, families, guests, and volunteers to and from the parking areas and five patient offices located on the Rush Memorial Hospital campus.  It is with pleasure that the Rush Memorial Hospital Foundation Board has given the green light to move forward with the project.  Donations have been given along with the profits from the Bella fundraiser that allowed the $53,000.00 goal to be reached.

“We are now in the phase of shuttle purchase, shelter design and planning, communication capabilities, and obtaining drivers for the shuttle service,” advised Faith Mock, RMH Foundation Director. “If all goes well we could see the shuttle ready by the end of summer.”

The shuttle will move throughout the campus and will be able to transport patients, guests, and volunteers among the five patient offices: main Hospital, Healthcare Associates, Walk-In Care, Pediatrics, and the Medical Office Building.  It is a goal for the shuttle to be ADA compliant and will hold at least 1-2 wheelchairs along with standard seating. As details become available more information will be shared in the future.  Inquiries concerning this project can be directed to Faith Mock at 765-932-7568.
