Even though the weather did not want to cooperate for portions of the day, the enthusiasm of the participants was not dampened. Over 60 bikes and jeeps road in the Eagles benefit ride that began at the Rushville Eagles at 10 a.m.
By afternoon, the attention was turned to a packed house at the New Salem Lions Club. Nearly 700 people were served a delicious free will dinner of pork with all the sides. Everyone was treated to children’s activities, a silent auction of over 200 items, and live auction. Bidding was generous with everyone in the frame of mind to help make pediatric cardiac screening a reality at Rush Memorial Hospital.
Many volunteers from the McKee family, Rush Memorial Hospital, and McKee family friends worked together to make this an exceptional benefit. As of press time, the amount of money raised was not available.
