The Rush Memorial Hospital Foundation recently awarded two Rush Memorial Hospital employees with reimbursement scholarships. Sanket Naik, RMH Rehab Department, and Carrie Scholl, RMH Health Information Department, were the 2017 recipients.
Sanket Naik is studying towards a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. He has worked as a Physical therapist for seven years. His interest is in Musculoskeletal Physical Therapy and has obtained a Master’s degree in Health Sciences with a concentration in Orthopedic Physical Therapy. Sanket completed a Fellowship program in Movement System Impairment which trained him to diagnose and treat abnormal movement patterns in patients with musculoskeletal pain. He was awarded a $2,000 scholarship.
Carrie Scholl is studying for a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Information Management. In her words, “Each class makes me more valuable as an employee in the Health Information Department. I am better able to assist the department as a whole.” She was presented a $1,000 scholarship.
These monies are available through the support of all the participants in the annual RMH Golf Outing. In the past five years, more than $32,000 has been awarded to RMH employees furthering their education.
“Supporting an employee that is increasing their knowledge and skills to best help our hospital patients is very gratifying. These are great people doing a very wonderful job. Congratulations,” according to Paul Barada, Sr., RMH Foundation Board member.
Faith Mock, Rush Memorial Hospital Foundation Director, shared, “These employees are dedicated to becoming the best and most knowledgeable in their fields of study and expertise. I love hearing about their goals and what these degrees mean to them. Congratulations to Sanket and Carrie for making a commitment to their education, especially while continuing to work at Rush Memorial.”
